STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – In an effort to build enthusiasm for the 2024 Lezzer Lumber Classic, Youth Football Camp is being offered to Central Pennsylvania youth from 1-3 p.m. on June 16 at State College’s Memorial Field.

The Jaylen Reed Youth Football Camp, offered in conjunction with the Lead Foundation and Cleats 4 Kids, will take place in the hours before the Lezzer Lumber Classic which is considered as one of the premiere all-star football games in Pennsylvania. Recent Mifflin County graduate Aidan Reed will be participating in the Classic as a member of the South Squad.

The cost to participate is $35 and campers will each receive a pair of cleats, t-shirt, food and a free ticket to the Classic which kicks off at 5 p.m. on June 16 at State College’s Memorial Field. Registration is open to participants entering grades 3-8.

In 1985, the Central Pennsylvania Football Coaches Association, with the late J. Gawen Stoker (former head coach at Indian Valley High School) as the Game Director, initiated the Mid-State Classic under the corporate sponsorship of the Mid-State Bank.

In 1998, the Lezzer Lumber Company became the major sponsor for the Classic with the CPFCA maintaining the football and organizational aspects of the game. We are proud to continue our association with the Lezzer Lumber as the corporate sponsor. Currently, there are thirty-two schools from District VI and IX involved in the game.

This year’s game is under the guidance of Larry Wiser & longtime Indian Valley and Mifflin County football coach Tom Shearer
