Mid-Week Recap: Kish-North Tops Terrace in Thursday Clash

JUNIATA TERRACE, Pa. – Kish-North remained unbeaten and swept the season series with Terrace behind a balanced offensive attack in a 34-6 victory over the Tigers on Thursday evening.

Following a short Terrace drive to open the game, Kish-North broke the early deadlock when Duke Peachey bolted around the right end for an 11-yard touchdown run to put the Indians out in front by a 6-0 tally. Terrace held on the extra point making it 6-0.

Facing a short field after another quick Terrace drive, Kish-North drove the ball down and capped the scoring drive off with an Emmett Jackson run up the middle to make the score 12-0 with 1:48 to play in the opening frame. Peachey found Jace Glick through the air for the two-point conversion to extend the Kish-North lead to 14-0.

Wyatt Hassinger wrapped up the first half scoring with a 12-yard touchdown run as the Indians led 20-0 early in the second quarter. Colton Baumgardner added the extra point to make it 21-0 Kish-North at the half.

Kish-North was able to find the end zone at the beginning of the fourth quarter on the legs of Baumgardner to push the lead to 27-0.

The visiting Indians pushed the lead to 33-0 when Jase Atherton connected with Glick to make the score 33-0. Colt Atherton powered in the extra point for a 34-0 Kish-North lead with less than six minutes to play.

Terrace got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter when Isaac Torres returned a kickoff to the end zone, but it wasn’t enough as Kish-North remained unbeaten behind a 34-6 victory.

Kish-North is back in action on Wednesday, October 15 when it plays Kish-South. Kick-off is set for 5:30 p.m. Terrace will look to get back on track on Sunday, October 12 when it visits Derry-Decatur for a 3:00 p.m. showdown with the Cyclones.
