Burnham Midgets hoist the 2022 midget championship for the CKYFL

Bulldogs Claim 2022 Midgets Title

LEWISTOWN, Pa. – Behind 26 first half points and a stifling defense, the Burnham Bulldogs claimed the 2022 Central Keystone Football League (CKFL) Midget title with a 32-6 victory over a gritty Kish squad on Sunday at Mitchell Field.

“I couldn’t be happier they came out and jumped on them early in the first quarter. We kind of talked about it all week at practice,” said Burnham head coach Anthony Everly. “We told the older kids they needed to score quick and get up so we could get all the younger kids in. We have 21 kids so with 10 of them not starting so it isn’t always the easiest so we had it done by the fourth quarter.”

The win for Burnham capped off another undefeated season for the Bulldogs.

Kish Takes Home Pee Wee Title in Instant Classic with Juniata

LEWISTOWN, Pa. – In a Central Keystone Football and Cheer League (CKFL) battle at historic Mitchell Field for the league championship, the Pee Wee showdown between the Kish Indians and Juniata Little Indians needed an extra session before Kish prevailed by a 33-32 tally in an instant classic.

Sawyer Albert muscled his way into the end zone and captured the win for Kish.

“I’m so happy for the kids. They fought all year. They didn’t give up,” said Kish coach Justin Hower. “ I saw some heads down but our coaching staff got them back together and we made a stand and we scored the touchdown.”

The win handed Kish its 10th victory of the season, becoming the lone team in the league to get to double digits in the wins column.
