CKYFCL Announces Bowl Weekend Schedule

LEWISTOWN, Pa. – The regular season is in the books and the Central Keystone Youth Football & Cheer League (CKYFCL) has announced official pairings for the 2024 Bowl Weekend to be held at Historic Mitchell Field.

The league is planning to live stream all contests for Bowl Weekend on the league’s YouTube channel. More details are forthcoming regarding live streaming and will be released prior to Bowl Weekend.

Games will be played on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3 and mark the final competitions on the schedule for Mitchell Field which hosted a thrilling finale for the Mifflin County Huskies in a victory over Red Land.

Bowl weekend opens up on Saturday, November 2 with a pair of Mighty Mights matchups at 11 a.m. The Mighty Mights games will be split-field contests between third-seeded Burnham and fourth-seeded Juniata and fifth-seeded Terrace and sixth-seeded Derry-Decatur.

During the regular season, Burnham swept the series with Juniata behind a pair of one-score victories. Terrace also swept the season series with Derry-Decatur with a pair of dominating victories over the Cyclones.

Following Mighty Mights action, the Pee Wees will take the field for the remainder of the day on Saturday with a 5-6 matchup between Derry-Decatur and Terrace kicking off the division’s action at 1 p.m. Derry-Decatur and Terrace split the season series and Derry-Decatur owned the tiebreak via point spread (+6) in the two matchups.

Burnham and Juniata will meet up in the postseason for the second straight season when they do battle at 3 p.m. The two teams split the season series with each team going on the road to claim victories with Burnham owning the tiebreak via point spread (+3) in the two matchups.

Saturday night’s finale will see Kish do battle with McVeytown for the Pee Wee division championship at 5 p.m. Kish swept the season series with McVeytown behind a pair of shutout wins. Kish rides a 21-game winning streak into the contest and will look to defend its 2023 Pee Wee Championship against the same McVeytown squad it defeated a year ago by a 25-6 tally.

Sunday’s slate of games opens with a Midgets matchup at 11 a.m. when Terrace does battle with the winner of the play-in game slated for Thursday between Kish and Derry-Decatur. Terrace swept the season series over both Kish and Derry-Decatur and is coming off a league championship a season ago.

A special contest will take place at 1 p.m. as the Burnham Bulldogs Special Needs team takes the field. The Special Needs team rides a multi-year winning streak into the contest with the Lake Dealerships of Lewistown.

The return of the Mighty Mights Championship game will see the Kish Indians take on the McVeytown Eagles at 3 p.m. Kish swept the season series over McVeytown and is riding a two-plus year winning streak into the contest. McVeytown is the last team to defeat Kish, with a victory on September 25, 2022.

Bowl Weekend wraps up with the Midget Championship game between McVeytown and Burnham at 5 p.m. McVeytown swept the season series with Burnham as the Bulldogs look to return to the top of the league for the first time since 2022.

Fans are reminded that the game start times are approximate and could be moved up to accommodate an earlier start time should games move quickly and ahead of schedule. Additionally, all rules and regulations of the Mifflin County School District (MCSD) will be in place for the duration of the weekend’s events.

⁃ Firearms and other weapons are not permitted on the grounds of Mitchell Field.
⁃ Parents, fans and other non-game personnel are not allowed on the field at Mitchell Field until given verbal approval by league staff over the public address system.
⁃ Mitchell Field is a non-smoking facility.
⁃ Any parent, coach or fan that is deemed to be unruly will be asked to leave the premises.
⁃ Parents are reminded of the code of conduct they signed at the beginning of the season. The Parent’s Code of Conduct remains in effect and will be enforced.


The CKYFCL is a 501c3 registered non-profit organization benefitting the more than 600 children across a four-county area in Central Pennsylvania. In addition to healthy competition, the league aims to provide an equal opportunity for kids between the ages of 5 and 13 to learn important skills in teamwork while forming friendships and bonds that can last a lifetime.
