JUNIATA TERRACE, Pa. – Burnham moved into sole possession of second place in the Central Keystone Youth Football & Cheer League (CKYFCL) Midgets division with a 27-12 victory over the Terrace Tigers on Tuesday evening.
Malachi Galbraith opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 20-yard touchdown run to put Burnham ahead by a 6-0 tally after the opening frame.
Burnham added two scores in the second quarter, while Terrace got on the scoreboard in the second to send the visiting Bulldogs to a 21-6 halftime lead. Eli Galbraith connected with his brother Malachi on a 76-yard pitch and catch and later ran the ball in from 10 yards out to round out the scoring for the Bulldogs in the second quarter.
Terrace trimmed the Burnham advantage to 21-12 in the third quarter, but the Bulldogs had the final say in the fourth. Brandon Davis powered across the goal line from eight yards out for the final score to propel Burnham to its fourth victory of the year by a 21-12 tally.
The CKYFCL is a 501c3 registered non-profit organization benefitting the more than 600 children across a four-county area in Central Pennsylvania. In addition to healthy competition, the league aims to provide an equal opportunity for kids between the ages of 5 and 13 to learn important skills in teamwork while forming friendships and bonds that can last a lifetime.
