League Set to Participate in MCHS Youth Night

LEWISTOWN, Pa. – Fresh off the early-season, Labor Day break the Central Keystone Youth Football & Cheer League (CKYFCL) will be back at it Friday night as the league’s teams participate in Youth Night at Mitchell Field.

The 2024 Youth Night event coincides with the Mifflin County Huskies home opener against the Wildcats of Mechanicsburg High School.

Along with the events of the game, the CKYFCL youth will have an opportunity to warm up with the Huskies prior to the game. The league’s cheerleaders will be able to join the pre-game festivities and participate with the Huskies Cheerleaders during pre-game.

Mifflin County has split its two contests to open the season. In the season opener, the Huskies rolled to a 42-6 road win at Central Mountain. The Huskies rounded out the August slate with a tough 41-34 loss at Northern York on Friday night.

Cheerleaders participating in the event are expected to meet at 5 p.m at the Lewistown Intermediate School and should have also participated in Cheer Camp. Football players participating in the events are requested to be at Mitchell Field no later than 5:15 p.m. and will meet with Mifflin County head football coach Shane Breon to participate in pre-game warmups at 5:30 p.m.

The CKYFCL is a 501c3 registered non-profit organization benefitting the more than 600 children across a four-county area in Central Pennsylvania. In addition to healthy competition, the league aims to provide an equal opportunity for kids between the ages of 5 and 13 to learn important skills in teamwork while forming friendships and bonds that can last a lifetime.
